The Quiet Way People Destroy Their Own Credibility

Here’s something most people won’t admit:

Reputations don’t implode in dramatic crashes.
They erode—silently—in ignored emails, vague replies, and missed moments.

Let me show you what I mean.

Last week, I was referred to a branding agency founder. Great intro.
Good vibe. Felt aligned.
I was upfront: “Here’s exactly what I need. If it’s not a fit, no worries—just tell me.”

They responded with full-body enthusiasm: “This is exactly what we do.”

Spoiler: it wasn’t.

The proposal came in late—not great, but fine.
Worse? It was clearly a generic, spray-and-pray deck. It referenced platforms we don’t use. Didn’t reflect our brand. Didn’t reflect our conversation. Didn’t even reflect effort.

Still, I gave them the benefit of the doubt (because mutual contacts and all) and followed up with questions. Got silence. Waited. Sent another follow-up. Still silence.

Here’s the truth:
They didn’t just ghost a potential client.
They ghosted every future deal that could’ve come from that introduction.
They didn’t just lose a project.
They lost the room.

Because when people ask me about agencies now?
You better believe I’ll remember who couldn’t be bothered to send a two-line email.

In business, silence isn’t neutral. It’s a message.
And it tells me everything I need to know.

This week’s episode on Amanda’s Playbook breaks it all down:

Watch it. Share it. Or send it to the last person who vanished on you mid-deal.

And if this hit a nerve?

Let me know. I read every message. Even the quiet ones.

Same time, same place next week,
